Gopipe^tm features

The gopipe^tmis sized for an altoids tin about 3/4" diameter by 3 & 1/4 " long and is available with an optional glass bowl liner. After loading, the bowl end may be inserted into the band so no spillage while traveling. The gopipe^tm may be smoked with the bowl exposed or protected inside the band for solo hits. There is extra storage space inside the band for bowl refills.

All the pieces are press fit together so the gopipe may be disassembled for cleaning. Clean inside and out with rubbing alchohol and oil the walnut with a food grade oil. If you wish, you may polish the brass with any metal polish, which will shine it up and remove any patina on the metal.

The gopipe^tm is made from black walnut, oiled & that is domestic to the US, with a solid brass band that has a rich aged patina, a brass screen, and an optional glass bowl liner.

Inside the band area is a brass screen over a large counterbore for screening the smoke and storage only. This area is not intended to be used as a bowl for smoking.

 What is a pipe?  It's an instrument for the enjoyment of burning tobacco. 

The pastime of pipe smoking has been in existence for centuries. Conventional tobacco pipes incorporate a bowl with a smoking cavity and a perpendicular bore attached to a separate stem. This conventional pipe is generally rather large to fit in a trouser pocket.

Pipes are made from bamboo, bone, clay, crustacean shells, gourds, metal, nuts, porcelain, roots, wood, etc. 

The most popular kinds of pipe have traditionally been made of woods like briar, which is the root of a Mediterranean shrub. Meerschaum, also widely used in pipe making, is fine white clay from turkey. This "sea spay" was created over 150 million years ago by crustacean shells. After the dangerous mining process the rock is boiled for days to remove salt, then it is treated with oils and waxes to give strength to the brittle stone. Meerschaum pipes are usually adorned with intricate carvings, and change in color as they are used.  These pipes are also expensive to produce, bulky, and inconvenient to carry.

CONCLUSION

                 The gopipe^tm smoking pipe can be smoked easily and conveniently, can be extinguished just as easily, and can also be used to carry extra tobacco, eliminating the need for a separate container for the tobacco. The pleasing cigar shape and appearance make it an ideal placebo or prop for one to use in conjunction with aromatherapy when they do not wish to smoke and desire to quit tobacco. The ability to flip the bowl piece allows this pipe to travel well and to never be messy as the smoker has the ability to easily cover or reveal the smoking cavity. This feature also allows one to slip the pipe into a pocket without fear of spilling on or burning their clothing, also the odor and unsightliness of the smoking chamber is concealed.
