Gopipe^tm features

The gopipe^tmis sized for an altoids tin about 3/4" diameter by about 3 and 1/4 " long. After loading, the bowl end may be inserted into the band so no spillage while traveling. When smoking the gopipe^tm with the bowl facing out the tobacco tends to stay lit longer. When smoking the gopipe^tm with the bowl facing in and protected inside the band the tobacco tends to go right out after each hit. There is extra storage space inside the band for bowl refills.

All the pieces are press fit together so the gopipe may be disassembled for cleaning. Clean inside and out with rubbing alchohol and oil the walnut with a food grade oil. If you wish, you may polish the brass with any metal polish or abrasive tooth paste, which will shine it up and remove any patina on the metal.

The gopipe^tm is made from black walnut, domestic to the US, oiled with tung oil, with a solid brass band that is stained with a rich aged patina, a brass screen inside the band that does not clog quickly and catches all debris from smoking, and it has an optional glass bowl liner.

Inside the band area is a brass screen over a large counterbore for screening the smoke and storage only. This area is not intended to be used as a bowl for smoking.

1. Set the brass band on edge on a wooden block.  The mouthpiece is then affixed to the band with a couple

of quick taps with a wooden mallet or the equivalent.

2. Peel the backing from the label and apply to the band.

3. Insert  the  ¾” diameter brass screen into band ( it is not advisable to smoke anything in the band.

This area is for cooling the smoke, collecting any debris that gets down the bore, and storage of extra smoke   

to be later transferred to the bowl to smoke.)

4. With your fingers and the large opening out, press the glass bowl into its place in the bowl end. 

  If the bowl is not a tight fit then cut one or two pieces of paper approx ¼” x 1” to use as shims when pressing into place.
